Global Maritime And Port Services Pte Ltd (GMAPS) was registered in 2004 as a privately-owned, Singapore-based, maritime services and port engineering consultancy company. Its competencies include strategic and concept master planning; front-end engineering design; 3D renderings and animation; detailed structural analysis and design; port hydrography; project management and QP supervision of port & jetty construction. GMAPS can also act as Independent Engineering Advisor to project owners and developers. GMAPS performs technical audit and due-diligence verification of project cost estimates, relying upon its in-depth domain knowledge and vast hands-on experience in cargo terminal operations and engineering design processes.
GMAPS expertise is derived from the combined skills of its partners who each has an average of 25 years hands-on experience in port development, operations and management, including drafting and promulgating laws and regulations for the port and maritime sectors. The partners were deeply involved at the senior management and policy-setting levels of the former Port of Singapore Authority, the current PSA Corporation and the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore.
GMAPS partners were among a core group of PSA officers who developed the wharf facilities to facilitate the start of containerisation in Singapore as early as the 1970s, and who later carried on with creating new infrastructure which enabled the port to grow over four decades. Currently, well over 28 million TEU's of containers a year are handled across the PSA wharves. Singapore's port is the world's busiest, where a vessel enters or leaves the port limits every 3 minutes. These officers also ventured regionally and into China, the Middle-East, India, and Europe.
Today, GMAPS has collaborated with regional companies and specialist professionals to apply the combined experience in Singapore and globally, to work with clients to master-plan state-of-the-art facilities and operating infrastructure. GMAPS is registered with the Asian Development Bank as a consultant body. It has achieved the bizSAFE Enterprise Level 2 from the Workplace Safety and Health Council, a GeBiz Trading Partner and has received the ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Management Systems.
