Global Maritime And Port Services Pte Ltd (GMAPS) conducts
thorough assessments of the larger environment of the
ports, strategic directions, policies, port and navigation
management, commercial operations, economic feasibilities
as well as sea-space management.
GMAPS expertise is derived from the combined skills of its partners who each has an
average of 35 years hands-on experience in port development, operations and
management, including drafting and promulgating laws and regulations for the port
and maritime sectors. The partners were deeply involved at the senior management
and policy-setting levels of the former Port of Singapore Authority, the current PSA
Corporation and Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore.
GMAPS partners were among a core group of PSA officers who developed the wharf facilities to facilitate the start of containerisation in Singapore as early as the 1970s, and who later carried on with creating new infrastructure which enabled the port to grow continuously over four decades. Today, well over 25 million TEU’s of containers a year are handled across the wharves they designed and built. Singapore’s port is the world’s busiest, where a vessel enters or leaves the port limits once every 3 minutes. Having brought and sustained Singapore at the forefront among the world’s busiest ports, these officers ventured regionally and creating new port facilities in South East Asia and thereafter expanding globally into China, the Middle-East, India, and Europe.
Today, GMAPS has agreements in place to associate and collaborate with numerous regional companies and other specialist
professionals. GMAPS partners and consultants can apply their combined experience in Singapore and their global experience,
to work with clients to master-plan a state of the art facility along with its entire required operating infrastructure. GMAPS is
currently registered with the Asian Development Bank as
a consultant. It has achieved the bizSAFE Enterprise Level
2 from the Workplace Safety and Health Council, a GeBiz
Trading Partner and has received the ISO 9001:2008
certification for its Management Systems.
